Terms of service.

By creating an AltGems account or using any part of our service, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms that apply to specific features (for example, Stripe's terms when you subscribe). If you don't agree, don't use the service.

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter. That includes your email, your portfolio data (acquisition price, cost basis, grading details), and anything you export for tax or insurance purposes. We render what you give us; garbage in, garbage out.

You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Don't share your password. Don't let someone else use your account. If you lose control of your credentials, email hello@altgems.io immediately and we'll help you recover.

You must be at least 18 years old to use AltGems.

AltGems offers three tiers: Collector (free), Enthusiast, and Investor. Enthusiast and Investor are billed monthly or annually; annual billing is cheaper per month. Current pricing always lives at altgems.io/pricing.

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, you authorize Stripe to charge the payment method on file at the start of each billing period. Monthly plans renew monthly, annual plans renew annually, until you cancel.

Cancellation is self-service via Stripe's billing portal from Settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues through the end of the period you've already paid for, then drops to the Collector tier. Your data stays put.

Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable once the billing period has started. Annual subscriptions may be refunded on a pro-rated basis at AltGems's discretion if requested within 30 days of the charge and no significant service outage has occurred. Email hello@altgems.io to request a refund. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, mirror, or bulk-download AltGems data that isn't yours, including through the API, the admin surface, or by crawling public portfolio share links at scale.
• Resell, resyndicate, or otherwise redistribute market data, tax computations, or grading ROI output as a paid service.
• Use the platform to automate abusive volumes of eBay, PSA, or other third-party API calls. We pay per request on several of these integrations and we reserve the right to rate-limit or suspend accounts that spike usage abnormally.
• Attempt to bypass authentication, row-level security, or tier gating. We log this and treat it as a terminable offense.
• Upload content that violates the law or a third party's rights (for example, uploading someone else's stolen property records as your own).

Market prices depend on third-party sources (eBay, spot-price APIs for precious metals, and others). We don't control these sources and can't guarantee their accuracy, completeness, or availability. Listings can be mispriced, categories can be mislabeled, and upstream APIs go down.

When we can't pull a current price we show “Not enough data” rather than a misleading number. When a refresh fails the previous successful price is preserved. These are our best-effort guardrails; they do not make third-party data reliable in a legal sense.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AltGems and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including lost profits, lost data, or errors in computed tax, insurance, or investment figures.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid AltGems in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) $100 USD. This limit applies whether the claim is in contract, tort, or otherwise.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the fullest extent allowed there.

You can terminate your account at any time from Settings → Danger zone. We can terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Terms (especially Section 5), that cause abnormal load on third-party integrations, or for any other reason with reasonable notice.

On termination, your portfolio data is purged within 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy. Pre-termination fees you've paid are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law or by the Refund section above.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from your use of AltGems will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

We may revise these Terms over time. Material changes (anything that reduces your rights, changes the refund policy, or adjusts the limitation of liability) will be announced at least 14 days in advance via email to the address on your account. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current revision. Continuing to use AltGems after a change takes effect counts as acceptance of the new Terms.
